Barbecue A Great Success September 14th 2007 |
| Lexden's annual summer barbecue was held on 26th.August & as usual a good time was had by all. Allan Highfield's large garden in Fingringhoe is the perfect venue with its fine views over the Roman River valley. As always it was dry & sunny enabling full use to be made of the grounds. Activities included tennis, cricket, Jenga, a garden darts tournament & a paddling pool. Masterchef Jon Jones provided delicious hand-made sausages & burgers which, along with chicken, ribs, salmon & mackerel were grilled to perfection by himself & Colin Hayward. Sue Highfield also laid on a huge spread of various salads & sweets and there was more than enough beer to keep everyone's spirits up. Their hard work was rewarded by a good turnout & a contribution of £190 to club funds. |
