ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING January 27th 2010 |
The A.G.M. of Lexden Cricket Club was held on Tuesday 26th.January 2010 at The Crown public house in Lexden Road, Colchester. The accounts were presented & showed that the Club made a small operating profit in 2008/9 for which credit must go to the Treasurer Anthony Shearman and Social Secretary Jeremy Jenkins. The Club has no outstanding debt so can look forward to a sound financial future. This was welcomed by Chairman Allan Highfield in his address to the meeting, in which he also expressed a desire to grow the membership with a view to running a 2nd.XI by the 2011 season. This stated goal reflects the ambition of a club which, though small, is well run with an excellent pavilion & square. Potential recruits will be invited to attend indoor net sessions starting on 21st.March. Trophies were also awarded for the 2009 season as follows :-
BATSMAN OF THE YEAR - Jon Jones : BOWLER OF THE YEAR - Colin Hayward
CHAMPAGNE MOMENT - Chris Martin : CLUBMAN - Ed Vandermark
