Lexden Does Well At League Presentation Night
February 5th 2007
The P.D.Q.Cars North Essex Cricket League Annual Dinner/Dance/Presentation Night was held on Saturday 3rd.February 2007 at Colne Valley Golf Club. Lexden was among the best represented clubs with 5 playing members and their partners attending. Guest speaker was former Essex & England bowler Mark Ilott who also presented the trophies.
As Champions of Division 3 Lexden received the winners' cup & a plaque to keep, which were collected by Captain Robin Seller & Vice-Captain Alistair Manhire. Jon Jones won the award for top bowler in the Division but he was unable to go due to work commitments & his prize was collected on his behalf by Chairman Allan Highfield.
There was a bonus when Robin 'Stato' Seller also won the Ashes quiz! The evening finished with a disco during which the ladies were were accompanied on the dance floor by Jerry 'Rockstar' Morgan, to little acclaim.
